Event Services and the Perception Analyzer The PA and Meetings
Participant involvement leads to successful, effective meetings

When people simply "attend" a meeting, they get bored and contribute very little to the net effect of the meeting. Sound familiar? This short-changes both attendees and meeting leaders and results in a less effective meeting than is otherwise possible.

The best way to boost effectiveness, increase comprehension and hold their attention in your meetings is to engage attendees throughout. Use the Perception Analyzer to:

  • Survey attendees early in the meeting to gauge expectations and uncover specific areas of interest/concern. This shows that this is their meeting.
  • Poll attendees during the meeting to be sure they're staying on track and gauge comprehension of important topics. This helps prevent people from becoming lost, or worse, bored.
  • Build consensus and take anonymous group votes with instantly available results. This eliminates bias and apprehension to participate.
  • Conclude the meeting with a survey to evaluate attendee's perceptions of what was covered, how it was understood and what changes they would recommend for next time. This allows those who know best (your audience) to advise you on ways to improve (which you want to do, right?) and makes them feel a greater sense of involvement.
